About
As a therapist and person, I would have to say that I am open-minded. I am pretty weird and nerdy with more than my fair share of bad dad jokes. I work with a wide variety of people and issues. Due to the settings in which I have worked, I find myself often involved in helping people with trauma, depression, anger, anxiety, and behavioral/authority issues. I am not currently set up to work with younger children due to lack of a proper play therapy area.
I started ConnectionsNWA in 2021 with the hope of creating a different kind of counseling experience. As we grow, the plan is to add services such as massage, meditation, yoga, exercise, and organized outdoor activities (hiking, etc).

About
Learning, growing and improving is something that should be a lifelong endeavor. If you are reading this, then clearly you are looking for help in this journey we know as life. Everything I do as a counselor revolves around helping people learn, grow and improve themselves – whether this means overcoming trauma experienced, recent life changes, or just looking to better understand how you operate as a person, my goal is for you to be able to walk away from working with me saying, “I am a better version of myself than I was a year ago”. This process can be quite difficult, but is always one that is made easier doing it with a trusted partner helping to guide you along that path. I typically focus more on CBT, person centered approaches, with a sprinkling of Positive Psychology. I always emphasize seeking out the root cause of issues that are presenting, working towards truly transformative change and growth in a person’s life.
My name is Sean Hutchens, and I have been a practicing counselor since early 2020. Before that, I spent 4 years working in mental health, and taught high school previous to that. I am married to a wonderful wife, with 4 kids that I love deeply (most days). I am currently a LPC at ConnetionsNWA along side Brant Cates. I work with a variety of clients, from adolescents to adults, and specialize in several areas including:
- Neuron-divergent disorders – ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- Life changes
- Family issues
- Relationship issues
- Communication skills
